from the New Jersey Courier of 19 Oct 1923 Correll Clayton, Lakehurst, convicted of having liquor unlawfully in his possession, was fined $250 and costs, which was paid.

Florence Roberts obituary 1922

Lakewood Citizen 1 Dec 1922 At 10 o'clock on Sunday evening, Mrs Florence White Pettit Roberts, wife of Thomas Roberts. died at her East Fourth Street home from the effects of cancer. Mrs Roberts had been in ill health for a long while and had been suffering particularly during the few weeks past. Mrs Roberts was in her 48th year and besides being survived by an aged mother now living in Whitesville, she leaves a husband and seven children. They are Raymond, Carl, Hazel, George, Mavis and Olive Pettit and Mary Roberts. The following brothers also survive: George, Warren, Charles, Joseph and Mack White of Whitesville and a half brother, Henry Cooper of Englishtown. The funeral services were held at 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon at the Episcopal church. The service was conducted by the Rev Mr Hugh D Jones with undertaker CHT Clayton, of Adelphia, in charge of the interment which took place in Woodlawn Cemetery

from the New Jersey Courier 20 Feb 1914 Lakewood, Feb 18--Miss Louisa Yetman of Bennett Mills died Monday, Feb 16. She was 71 years of age. She made her home with her sister, Mrs. Hannah Clayton of Bennett Mills. She had been failing for four years.

George Clayton obituary, 1934

from the Lakewood Citizen 5 Jan 1934: George H Clayton, a life long resident of the county line section of Lakewood and for the past fourteen years a resident of Apple Street, died at his home last Saturday in his seventy seventh year. Mr Clayton was born across the county line in Howell Township, and was the son of Joel and Jane Clayton. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs Robert Madge of Adelphia, and three sons, Frank of Lakewood, who resided with his father; Leon of Asbury Park and Percy of West Point Pleasant. One sister, Mrs Fred M Curtis of Southard also survives. Funeral service was held on Tuesday afternoon at the Soutahrd Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev Robert Blackman officiating. Burial was made in the Southard Cemetery

Bryant and wife of Cedar Grove spent Wednesday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Ivins Clayton and family

Wilma Clayton obituary, 1918

from the New Jersey Courier 25 Oct 1918 Wilma A. Clayton, 8 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Clayton of Ocean Avenue, Lakewood, died October 17 after an illness of a week from grip followed by pneumonia. Funeral services were held Sunday at 1 o'clock from the house and interment in Bethesda Cemetery, Adelphia. Surviving are her parents, and four sisters, the Misses Rae, Sophronia, Olive and Elizabeth.

Clayton, member of a well known Silverton family. She claims they were married Sep 11, 1905 and had lived together till about a year ago, when he drove her from their home by his cruelty. He denies they were ever married.
