Two car accidents in Burlington, 1939

 New Jersey Mirror 30 Mar 1939 Two persons were killed in automobile accidents in Burlington county during the past few days.  Elliean Rhodes, 42, an unmarried  colored  woman, was fatally injured when she was struck by a car while crossing the road at Eighth and Broad streets, near her home in Burlington, on Saturday night.  Louis Smith, 44, of Creek Front, Camden, died from a fractured skull, received when his car skidded on Coopertown road, near Delanco, late on Tuesday, and crashed into a tree.  The driver of the car which killed Miss Rhodes is Amos Hope, of Burlington, who was held under $1,000 bail on a charge of involuntary homicide by automobile. Coroner Hiram H. Earnest, of Mount Holly, found that the victim suffered fractures of both legs, a broken neck and fractured skull. John Ashmead Funeral Records These are some excerpts from the recors of John B. Ashmead, Mt. Holly undertaker; he started his business in Philadelphia (1844) and then moved to Mt. Holly in 1849. GARRISON-KELLY from the Trenton Times 14 Oct 1901 Former Bordentown Man Married. Bordentown, Oct 14. - Lieutenant D. Mershon Garrison, United States Navy, grandson of the late Captain D.S. Mershon, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Garrison, of this city, and Miss Jessie C. Kelly, daughter of the late Captain W. A. Kelly, were married September 26, in Charleston, S.C. Their future residence will be Annapolis, Md., where Lieutenant Garrison is stationed as a professor in mathematics at the Naval Academy.

TUCKERTON BEACON 4 Mar 1920 C. D. Kelly made a business trip to Atlantic City on Saturday. Rev. Woolston Johnson is attending the M.E. Conference at Atlantic City this week. Several members of the M.E. Church were in attendance during the meetings --among them Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Sprague and A.H. Jones. Misses Grace and Sara Ruter, who are employed in the Quaker City, spent the week end at home. Ms. A. H. Jones has returned home after a fortnight's visit with her sister, Mrs. Ada Cranmer in Philadelphia. Mrs. O.P. Smith, of Camp Dix, was a week end visitor at R.F. Rutter's. Eugene Kelley is on the sick list; we hope to hear of his early improvement. Among the recent Philadelphia visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holloway, George g. Kelley and daughters, Misses Ruth and Eva and Mrs. James E. Kelly. Fireman George Cox of the Pennsy System at Camden was home on the sick list last week. Mrs. Laura Cranmer was called to Pleasantville this week by the illness of her daughter, M
