Luetta Cotrell obit 1942

 Lakewood Citizen, Friday April 17,1942: "Mrs Luetta Cottrell, wife of Ivans Cottrell of 555 Ocean Avenue, died last Saturday evening at her home, following a brief illness. Mrs Cottrell, who was a life long resident of Lakewood, was in her fifty fifth year. She was the daughter of the late William and Jane Lewis Johnson. Mrs Cottrell was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Society of that church. Beside her husband, Mrs Cottrell is survived by two daughters, Mrs Jennie Coleman of Lakewood; and Mrs Marie Born of Sea Girt; one sone, William I Cottrell of Lakewood and a brother, John Johnson, living in California; and five grandchildren. Funeral service was held on Tuesday afternoon at the Westhall Funeral Home with the Rev Marshall Sewell, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery".

H. Percy Smith obituary 1941

 Asbury Park Press, Monday December 8,1941: "Lakewood- H Percy Smith, 73, a resident of Lakewood for the past 50 years, died suddenly at Paul Kimball Hospital at 1:35 AM yesterday after he was rushed there in an ambulance three hours earlier Saturday night. Mr Smith was born in Calais, Me, son of Percy and Mathilda Hatton Smith. A painter and decorator, he was a member of the Junior OUAM, Camp 13 of the POS of A, Knights of Pythias, Veterans Association of New Jersey, Arresseoh Tribe NO 1 of the Red Men, First Baptist Church and the TAM Republican Club. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Jeanie Thompson Smith; a son, H Robert Smith, Lakewood, three daughters, Mrs George Canning of Gloucester, Mass, and Mrs Walter McCoach and Mrs Herbert W Barber of Red Bank; and six grandchildren. Friends may call at the funeral home between 7 and 9 o'clock tonight. The Junior Order of United American Mechanics will conduct a service at 8 o'clock this evening".

C. Stratton Holman obituary 1941

 Asbury Park Press 10 Mar 1941 Whitesville- C Stratton Holman, Justice of the Peace in Jackson Township for the past 25 years, died yesterday at his home on the Cassville-Toms River Road after a brief illness. Mr. Holman, a painter and paper hanger, was a member of Laurel Council, Jr O U A M; Camp 113, Patriotic Order sons of America and the Whitesville Methodist Church.  He is survived by two sons, George L and C Chester Holman, Manasquan; a granddaughter, Miss Dorothy Holman, Manasquan; a grandson, George Louis Holman, Miami, FL; a brother, John W Holman, Lakewood and two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Buckwalter and Mrs. Sidney Harris, Toms River. Funeral services will be conducted at his home at 1:30 PM Wednesday, in charge of Rev C Albertus Hewitt, pastor of the Whitesville Church. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Toms River. Friends may call tomorrow night at the home
