Hannah Davis obituary, 1909

New Jersey Courier, December 24,1909: "Mrs William C Davis, who for only a few days suffered with pneumonia, died at her home on Sunday at eleven o'clock. She was sixty eight years of age. Surviving are her widower, three daughters, Mrs Henry Miller of Atlantic City Mrs Flora Shouels (Showell), Miss Lizzie Davis of this place; two sons, William and Isaac; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Joseph Hankins; three brothers, Joseph E, John W and E P White. She was the daughter of the late Judge James D and Amy White. She was converted in her youth and united with the M E Church of this place. The funeral services will be conducted by the pastor, Rev Edgar Craig, from her home Thursday at one o'clock; two o'clock at the M E Church. Interment will be made at the cemetery near the church".

Johnson-Baldwin wedding, 1909

N J Courier, June 2,1909: "A pretty home wedding occurred Wednesday in East Fourth Street, when Miss Mary Ethel Johnson, daughter of Mr and Mrs J C Johnson, became the wife of Mr Frank Edgar Baldwin, of Red Bank, the ceremony occurring at one o'clock and performed by the Rev C P Butler of the Presbyterian Church. The bride was gowned in a charming princess dress of white batiste with lace and embroidery and carried white roses. Her going away gown was of London Smoke broadcloth and she wore a panama hat with lilacs. The young couple received many pretty gifts. After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served to the company and the bride and groom left amid showers of rice and confetti to their home in Atlantic Highlands which is in readiness for them. The wedding company numbered about twenty six and included the relatives and a few friends from Lakewood, the grooms mother, sister and brothers, Mrs G W Baldwin, Miss Estelle Baldwin and Messrs George B and William

Sarah Holman obituary, 1909

N J Courier, June 2,1909: "Mrs Sarah E Holman, wife of former Sheriff Charles L Holman, died on Friday evening of last week. She was 75 years of age, and her years were against her recovery. Death was caused by pneumonia after an illness of one week. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church, of which she had long been a member, on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. Her pastor, Rev C B Austin, DD, made the principal address referring to her home life and her influence with her family, and was followed by Rev James Morgan Read, president of Pennington Seminary, in a touching tribute to the many good qualities of Mrs Holman. Rev R B Whitman, pastor of the Baptist church read the scripture lesson; and the church choir sang: "Peace, Perfect Peace" and "Abide with Me". Burial was at the family plot in Riverside cemetery. The pall bearers were: Daniel Shutts of Shrewsbury;Joseph Shutts of Red Bank; Senator G F Cranmer of Trenton; Henry Simon
