John Henry Hendrickson obituary, 1905

NJ Courier, Thursday June 15,1905: "John Henry Hendrickson of Prospertown, died May 27, after an illness of two months, from heart failure. He was 78 years old. When 16 years old he married Elizabeth Ann Burk of Jackson Mills, and the following children survive with the widow: William of Jersey City; Timothy, Charles and Thomas of Prospertown; Ulyesses of Jackson Mills; Henry of Crosswicks; George of Cream Ridge; Gordon of Allentown; Mary of Yardville; Frances of Lakewood; Letitia of Florence; Hannah of Red Valley, and Emma of Prospertown, All the 13 children attended the funeral services. Also 36 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren survive, and one brother, Richard Hendrickson of Easton, Pa. The deceased was a farmer. He was a member of the 14th N J Vols, and of G A R Post No 72, of New Egypt. He lived his entire life near Prospertown and had been a member of Imlays Hill Methodist Church many years". News From Jackson Mills, 1918

New Jersey Courier 15 Feb 1918 Miss Bernice Burk of Leesville is spending sometime with her sister, Mrs. Howard Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor are rejoicing over the arrival of a little son on Sunday last. George Rose is driving one of the auto trucks for the Ocean Lumber Company. The company is very busy now burning charcoal and carting it to New York by auto. David H. Thompson of Englishtown spent a part of the past week with his mother, Mrs. P.A. Thompson. George B. Camp and wife and Mrs. J.R. Hendrickson spent Thursday in Freehold. Isaac Dolbow sold one of his horses to his son Horace the past week. C.L. Davis and B.F. Murphy were Holmsen visitors on Thursday. D.C. Anderson visited his nephew, Ernest Preston, at Leesville, on Friday last. Elmer Cook is helping his uncle, Walter Thompson, in his barber shop at Freehold. Jess Cowdrick was the Monday guest of Jonathan Strickland and wife.

News From Jackson Mills 1918

New Jersey Courier 14 Jul 1918 Mrs. F.J. Wetzel and son Bruce of Bay Ridge, NY are visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mathews at Glen Lake. Mrs. C.L. Davis and daughter Dorothy called on C.L. Reynolds and wife on Sunday. Mrs. Van Thompson and Mrs. Harriet Burdge of Lakewood were Sunday visitors of Mrs. Elias Anderson. Mrs. James Applegate spent Friday in Lakewood. Ross Hendrickson of South River spent the week end with his father J.H. Hendrickson. Warren Burdge is still suffering with a gathered hand. William Anderson and wife and son of Freehold spent Sunday with his parents, Elias Anderson and wife. Mrs. J.R. Hendrickson and son Otis spent Sunday with her son Ross A. Hendrickson of South River. Mrs. Wm. Applegate has gone to Paul Kimball hospital, Lakewood, for treatment. Mrs. Alonzo Holey of Asbury Park returned home Friday after a few days visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Applegate. Mrs. Geo. C. White and two children and Mrs. A. White all of Freehold
