News From West Creek, 1920

TUCKERTON BEACON 4 Mar 1920 C. D. Kelly made a business trip to Atlantic City on Saturday. Rev. Woolston Johnson is attending the M.E. Conference at Atlantic City this week. Several members of the M.E. Church were in attendance during the meetings --among them Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Sprague and A.H. Jones. Misses Grace and Sara Ruter, who are employed in the Quaker City, spent the week end at home. Ms. A. H. Jones has returned home after a fortnight's visit with her sister, Mrs. Ada Cranmer in Philadelphia. Mrs. O.P. Smith, of Camp Dix, was a week end visitor at R.F. Rutter's. Eugene Kelley is on the sick list; we hope to hear of his early improvement. Among the recent Philadelphia visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holloway, George g. Kelley and daughters, Misses Ruth and Eva and Mrs. James E. Kelly. Fireman George Cox of the Pennsy System at Camden was home on the sick list last week. NEW JERSEY COURIER 20 APR 1917: J.F. Stephenson and son Harold, and Mr. Sprague of Lakehurst were Friday callers. Miss Violetta Ivins returned to Philadelphia on Friday after a visit with relatives and friends. Wm. M. Bristol of Brooklyn was a Saturday visitor. George Olson, jr and family spent Easter in Bayille Clarence Tilton and wife of Camden spent Easter with his mother and sister. Howard Allen has moved his family from the A.M. Allen store and post office building to the bungalow belonging to Mrs. Thos. Johnson. E.F. Larrabee and familyof Lakehurst were Sunday callers. Leslie G. Hulet is spending some time in New York City.

News From Beach Haven, 1911

New Jersey Courier 30 Mar 1911 Jesse Sprague, Jr has joined the navy and gone to training quarters at Newport, RI A daughter was born last week to Mr. and Mrs. Allen. Capt A.B. Stratton was about the first to start the flounder fishing succesfully. Mumps are sweeping this part of the beach. Wm. L. Butler has contracts for two new cottages, one on Second street, the other on Bay avenue, for MA Todd and Mrs. Jopsom of Philadelpia. R.F. Engle of Engleside was here last week and will soon be overhauling for the summer business. Eight geese and 23 ducks was the bag of Carrol Stratton and Jim Sprague on windy day in March. Charles Brewer has moved here from Manahawkin in one of the James Welsh houses. Thomas K. Lane has moved into the James Sprague house at North Beach Haven. Charles Beck of Philadelphia is a frequent visitor at his farm here.
