New Egypt Press 21 Apr 1905: The Tuckahoe River is the favorite haunt of many Philadelphia anglers. The Carpenters and Joiners Local Union, of Millville, celebrated its sixteenth anniversary with a banquet on Monday night. Struck by a Jersey Central train at Greenwich yesterday, 14 year old Robert E. LEAMING had a leg cut off. He was taken to Bridgeton Hospital. There is a slight improvement in the glass condition of South Jersey and manufacturers say the factories now in operation will continue to the end of the blast, June 30. The Board of Freeholders of Cape May County has awarded the contract of regraveling the new county road across teh meadow, from Five Mile Beach to the mainland, to former Senator Hand. It is believed at Paterson that the woman who committed suicide in Altoona, PA Monday by throwing herself under a freight train was Mrs. Fannie LONG of Paterson. She had gone to Altoona to see her husband, who was ill in a hospital.

taken from the Gloucester County Times on December 24, 1943 Mrs. Susie A. Mathis Mrs. Susie A. Mathis, widow of Theodore Mathis, died on Friday. She was 80 years old. Born in Egg Harbor, Mrs. Mathis lived most of her life in Glassboro and was widely known in that community. Surviving are six children. They are Mrs. Ella Mae Wickward, of Gloucester; Mrs. Wilhelmina Cossabone of Camden; Stephen Mathis, Mrs. S. Nevada Adams and Mrs. Charlesanna A. Long, of Glassboro and Eugene V. Mathis, of Vineland; There are 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also surviving. The Rev. William A. Robbins, pastor of the Trinity Protestant Church, will conduct the services at 11 A.M. Tuesday from the Albert D. Mathis Funeral Home, 43 N. Delsea Drive, Glassboro with burial in Trinity cemetery. from the New Jersey Mirror 26 Jul 1905 Charles Long, the negro for whom the police of Trenton are looking upon the charge of having murdered Matthew Cunningham, of that city, on July 16, is a native of this county, having been born and spent several long years of his life at Cookstown.
