John Herbert family

The following bit of information I came across in an issue of the New Jersey Courier; as of this posting I have not been able to find the original record with the date of the paper, although I do believe it was in the 1920s. John Herbert married a woman named Elizabeth, last name unknown, who lived in Herbertsville, Ocean County, New Jersey. They had a number of children, including the following: Catherine who married a Mr. Gilford an unnamed daughter, who died young Three boys, all dead as of the printing of the article Hannah, born 1839. She married David Brewer of Herbertsville and had: Morton Brewer Herbert Brewer W.V. Brewer Charles Brewer James Brewer Elizabeth Herbert, Hannah's twin sister (born 1839). She married, in 1860, William Morton, and had: Craig Morton Thomas Morton Edward Morton John Morton Ella Morton All of the Morton children lived in Allenwood, New Jersey.

News From Bayhead, 1919

New Jersey Courier 3 Jan 1919 Miss Ella Mae Loveland of Asbury Park spent a few days last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Loveland. Miss Gertrude Fleming spent her Christmas vacation from her duties as teacher in the Camden public school home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Flemming. Private Lewis Herbert of Weehawkin spent Christmas Day with his parents on Osborn Avenue. Misses Virginia and Maude Van Note spent Friday in Seaside Park. Miss Edna Brower spent the latter part of the week at her home on Main Avenue. Mrs. F. Clark returned to her home Sunday in Philadelphia, after spending a few days with her parents on Lake avenue. Thomas Timberman of Jamesburg visited Mr. and Mrs.J.F. Morton Friday. Mr. Golden of Roebling visited Miss Helen Stout over the week end. Frank Ferry and Lloyd Johnson are spending a short vacation down the bay gunning at Barnegat. Miss Florence Worth is ill at her home with the scarletina P. News From Chesterfield, 1911

Allentown Messenger 28 Apr 1911: Mr. Henry Reed of Union Mills and Holmes Herbert of Pemberton, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Herbert of near Chesterfield on Sunday. Joseph Lawyer and son Eugene were Bordentown visitors on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Herbert and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lawyer spent Saturday evening in Bordentown. Mrs. Henry Chaffee and daughters Helen and Emma spent Friday last shopping in Trenton. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Francis of Crosswicks were vistors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Barton Carter on Friday. George T. Forsythe is not very well at this writing. Miss Zilpa Burtis and Leon, Marie and Adele LaRue all spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Forsythe. Mrs. William Forsythe and daughter Harriett, of near Columbus spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Forsythe.
