Winifred MacQueen obituary, 1936

From the Lakewood Citizen 3 Jan 1936 Winifred MacQueen, twenty one, of Beachwood, died at the Paul Kimball Hospital, on Sunday night. She had been a patient at the institution for about six months, suffering with a complication of ailments. Surviving are the parents and four brothers, all of Beachwood. Funeral service was held from the late home of New Year's Day, with the Rev Ira Hicks, pastor of the Toms River Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was made in the Holmanville Cemetery

News From Beachwood, 1918

New Jersey Courier 20 Sep 1918 An adjourned meeting of the council was held on Saturday evening. Ordinances covering the building of commercial buildings, regulating the building of outhouses and for the making of the R.R. crossing of the Penna. R.R. at Atlantic Boulevard were up for first reading; all ordinances were approved and ordered published. Each of these ordinances will be a big asset to Beachwood and should have the approval of all Beachwoodites. F. Fay of new York City is currently occupying Miss Gant's cottage on Capstan Avenue for a few weeks. W.Warrow has left for New York City to secure a position. Mrs. Warrow and the two kiddies will join Billy in a few days. The clubhouse will seem rather deserted without "Little Billy" as he certainly helped to make things lively this summer. Dry wells seem to be in order, and it is rather an expensive job to have the wells put down a few feet further. Mr. Smith has moved to his new house on Beachwood Boulevard. Mr

New Jersey Courier 13 Dec 1929 Mrs. Horace R. Wemple and daughter Miss Frances of Elizabeth and Beachwood returned recently from a visit of ten days in Great Barrington, Mass., where they were called by the death of Mr. Ralph Wainwright Pope, Mrs. Wemple's father. Mr. and Mrs. John Peterson of Cable Avenue spent a few days with their son in West Orange. Mrs. Melbourne Camillier, Jr. and Mrs. Frank Hill spent Tuesday in Asbury Park on a shopping trip. Arthur O'Dare of Brooklyn stopped at his cottage on Cable Avenue for the week end. He is having his front porch glassed in, Albert Neilson doing the work. Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Rheinhardt motored from Orange to spend a few days at their home here. Mr. Rheinhardt is goin gto build a house on Cable Avenue. Albert Ober of Oak St. motored to Trenton on business last Thursday. Richard Stern motored from Irvington to spend the week end at his home on Barnegat Blvd. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Koelihoffer have returned after a visit of sev
