Obituary of Venus Coggins, 1843

In Pottsville Borough, on Thursday last, January 5, 1843, "Old" Venus Coggins, a black woman, aged one hundred and three years. Venus retained her faculties both mental and physical, to a most extraordinary degree, and was able to walk about town until within four or five days of her death.
