Wrongful arrest, 1930

New Jersey Courier 10 Oct 1930:

GOT WRONG MAN FOR THEFT OF CRANBERRIES
Charles SAARL, of Holmanville, brought before Justice LEARY on the charge of taking cranberries from the bog of James LEE, of Osbornville, was released, the testimony not showing him to be the guilty man. The bog is a small one on the road between Silverton and Pleasant Plains. On a recent Sunday, Theodore DENNIS of Osbornville and his daughter, Mrs. Emma McCALL, saw some people picking berries on this bog. They took the number of a truck standing there, and told Mr. Lee about it. Lee went to the bog and found the entire crop picked or trampled over.
