H. Percy Smith obituary 1941

 Asbury Park Press, Monday December 8,1941:


"Lakewood- H Percy Smith, 73, a resident of Lakewood for the past 50 years, died suddenly at Paul Kimball Hospital at 1:35 AM yesterday after he was rushed there in an ambulance three hours earlier Saturday night.

Mr Smith was born in Calais, Me, son of Percy and Mathilda Hatton Smith. A painter and decorator, he was a member of the Junior OUAM, Camp 13 of the POS of A, Knights of Pythias, Veterans Association of New Jersey, Arresseoh Tribe NO 1 of the Red Men, First Baptist Church and the TAM Republican Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs Jeanie Thompson Smith; a son, H Robert Smith, Lakewood, three daughters, Mrs George Canning of Gloucester, Mass, and Mrs Walter McCoach and Mrs Herbert W Barber of Red Bank; and six grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home between 7 and 9 o'clock tonight. The Junior Order of United American Mechanics will conduct a service at 8 o'clock this evening".
